Professional Bio
Chris Faber is a property and liability claims consultant, expert witness, and licensed Public Insurance Adjuster with more than 25 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
Chris began his career in 2001 at Mercury Insurance Group, spending a decade in casualty claims, progressing from Casualty Claim Adjuster to Claims Examiner to Casualty Claims Supervisor. In 2012 he moved into property claims, first at Mercury and then at American Modern Insurance, where he also handled general liability and litigated claims. In 2017 he joined Farmers Insurance, progressing through Large Loss General Adjuster, Property Claims Supervisor, and Property Claims Branch Manager to Large Property Territory Manager.
In 2024, Chris began offering independent expert witness and consulting services, now conducted through Faber Claims Consultants, founded in 2026. He is also owner and a licensed Public Insurance Adjuster with Chris Faber Public Adjusters.
His expertise includes claim investigation, valuation, and settlement practices; coverage investigation; claims-handling standards and customs; property and general liability claims, including public entity liability; regulatory compliance and market conduct examinations; claims file auditing; and litigation support, including examinations under oath and trial preparation.
Chris holds six professional designations: CPCU, AIC-M, PCLA, SPPA, CPAU, and AIS, and is licensed as a Public Insurance Adjuster in California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, and Hawaii. He serves on the board of a CPCU Society chapter (past Chapter President and Governor), participates on committees with NAPIA and PCAPIA, and sits on United Policyholders' "Ask an Expert" panel.
