Professional Bio
Since 1982, Don Lamont has accumulated experience investigating and assessing roof damage in all structures, including commercial buildings. He has developed this capacity as an adjuster and contractor with Lamont Custom Roofing, and as President and CEO of multiple organizations devoted to investigating the causes of property damage (such as
International Engineering Consulting Group) and developing the repairs necessary to fix them; both residential and commercial properties, including roofs. He has also developed expertise in formulating the scope of repairs based on this experience, as well as in his capacity as a licensed and certified public adjuster in Texas and 22 other states, since at least 2012.
Don is an International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants Registered Roof Observer (RRO). Don is also a certified trainer for the National Roofing Contractors Association and has served as an expert witness in construction analysis, preparing property damage estimates in general (roof estimates in particular), and in the building and rebuilding of commercial structures, including
roofs. Don has been considered as a roofing expert witness, both at deposition and/or at trial in both Federal and State cases.
Don is a current member of the NRCA, and he teaches TPO mastery, TPO basics, and Storm Damage Assessment classes.
He is the author of the #1 Best Selling book Storm Damage Assessment. He was a speaker at the International Roofing Expo in Dallas, Texas that hosted over twelve thousand roofers. He is a member of ASTM, IIBEC, NAPIA, TAPIA, FAPIA, and A2LA.
He is an Infrared-Certified Level 1 Thermographer and a drone pilot, often being hired to perform Infrared testing for moisture in roofing systems. He is a Certified Uplift Testing Specialist, conducting uplift tests on liability cases. He is also a WINDSTORM Certified Appraiser and Umpire.
Don is also a Flood Certified Adjuster and Licensed Adjuster.
