Mr. Smith’s focus since he started his CPA firm in 1992, has been forensic and investigative accounting for the insurance industry. In his role as a consultant and expert witness, Mr. Smith has been engaged over 2,500 times by business owners, insurers, policyholders and attorneys to provide loss measurement services, including but not limited to Business Income and Extra Expense, Lost Profit, Gross Earnings, and Builders Risk. He has also served as an Umpire and Appraiser related to business interruption disputes in the Appraisal process.
Bruce D. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He is a member or associate member of the following organizations: Florida Association of Public Adjuster (FAPIA), National Association of Public Adjusters (NAPIA), Windstorm Insurance Network, National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).
